RADTIME 3D-ALPHA TECHNOLOGY
The unique RadTIME 3D-Alpha™ technology contained in 3dFILM intuitively displays alpha transparency information from files like QuickTime and Photoshop. Accurately and intuitively in 3D space. You can group layers together and animate them in 3D as a single bitmap while keeping full control over the individual layers. Slide one layer over another while rotating and moving the whole group. And 3D-Alpha accurately handles layer intersections and overlaps. So you get pixel-by-pixel, intuitively correct transparency and alpha. All with real-time playback.
RADTIME ENHANCED LIGHTING2
RadTIME has developed a proprietary lighting engine that enhances standard OpenGL lighting yet maintains real-time playback. Cast shadows onto 3D objects or media layers. You can even cast shadows through the transparent section of one layer onto another layer or 3D object. All at real-time, interactive rates. And RadTIME Enhanced Lighting produces true "per-pixel" lighting for unparalleled levels of realism.
INTEGRATED 3D MODELING
3dFILM was designed from inception to incorporate 3D information. So you can create and animate a logo, import a 3D model or add other 3D elements to your scene. No more waiting for other software to render to see how your layers work with 3D objects. And with the RadTIME 3D ModelMaker add-on, you can create, edit and animate b-spline 3D models and geometry directly on the same time line and environment where you composite video.
A COMPLETE SET OF PROFESSIONAL TOOLS
3dFILM has a complete set of professional animation and compositing tools. Included are advanced masking capabilities with an unlimited number of masks, morphing of freeform masks and feathering with an independent, animatable feathering curve. A powerful animation system gives you direct and precise control to manipulate interpolation curves, set acceleration rates and even transform time on Media Layers. And with its hierarchical structure, 3dFILM can "composite" animations from a parent level onto its children with unlimited depth. Or nest one 3D composition into another and have full access to their respective elements via drag and drop.
For even more capabilities, 3dFILM has an open architecture to allow modules to be added with new functionality and to support future expansion. For example, the RadTIME KeyingPak add-on provides professional-quality chroma keying tools that run 100-200 times faster than competitive products. In addition, 3dFILM supports a large number of third party plug-in filters such as Boris FX, DigiEffects and more.
